Thanksgiving with Family
Thanksgiving Day is, in my experience, the start of a season of feasts that ends with the ringing in of the New Year. This is the time of the year that we start to see quite a bit of relatives and friends, sharing good food around a family table. Yesterday was no exception.
We had lunch at a cousin’s home, with relatives on both sides of her family. We had a chance to catch up with what’s happening with whom. A cousin and his family have just moved into their first home (congratulations!), and we got to see it for the first time yesterday. Very lovely house, with architecture that I don’t see often in homes built these days. Another cousin just got engaged (congratulations too!). A niece and a nephew have been having piano lessons which they seem to enjoy very well.
I always enjoy these gatherings and come away feeling warm all over, not just from the food, but from being surrounded by family. They’re people I’m thankful for.
How was your Thanksgiving Day?

It’s pretty hard to get into the holiday spirit here in Vietnam but the HUGE turkey dinner complete with trimmings that we were able to order from a local restaurant sure helped. YUM.
