Stacy Julian: Homemaking Inspiration
Inspiration may come from any source.
I was watching one of the first episodes of Clique TV, featuring Stacy Julian, founding editor of Simple Scrapbooks. Stacy is one crazy busy mother, wife, working woman and serious scrapbooker. She has 4 sons and just recently adopted a precious baby girl! On top of that, she runs her own business, Big Picture Scrapbooking. How does she do it?
We get an inside peek into a day in Stacy’s life, via Clique TV’s On the Clock series. I encourage you to watch the videos for yourself and see her organizational skills in action.
Here are some of the things she does:
1. She has a planner/binder that she takes everywhere with her, even when she’s making dinner. Everything’s there, including her sons’ schedules and her dinner recipes.
2. Stacy puts things together the way she uses them. I believe this is one of her housekeeping secrets. She has a lunch-making drawer, a baking cupboard, and a snack basket.
3. She labels everything, even the shelves on her fridge!
4. She takes care of herself (she runs in the morning!), and spends time doing the things she enjoys.
5. Her family eats dinner together.
6. She moves fast! No loitering anywhere for this busy girl. She knows what she needs to do and gets it done in the shortest amount of time she can.
Get a peek into her pantry and laundry, and you’ll be inspired like I was.
In addition to all these housekeeping gems, I also realized that people like Stacy, who accomplish a lot, keep a home organized and are happy doing these things, don’t wait. They don’t wait until the kids are grown, or they have things just so. They get organized, and get going, making the most of every single day.
