Slash Your Grocery Bill

One of the oldest and most reliable ways of saving money is by cutting on food costs. For most people, that means not eating out as often. But there are also ways to cut down on grocery bills, even when you’re already cooking most meals at home.
Here are seven ways to lower your grocery bills:
1. Never shop without a list.
2. When a big sale hits on items your family uses often, stock up.
3. Shop at stores that double coupons.
4. For your first few months of couponing, dedicate your savings to a special fund for a deep freeze. Having a separate freezer will allow you to stock up on expensive frozen foods when they go on sale.
5. Bring a calculator. Calculate prices per ounce.
6. Leave the kids at home when you shop. Not only do they grab impulse items, they will distract you from finding bargains.
7. Ask the butcher, produce manager and other staff at your favorite store about upcoming sales and specials.
