Review: Dawn Simple Pleasures

Dawn Simple Pleasures is a new kitchen product that combines two functions in one. The bottle contains the same grease-fighting Dawn dish liquid that is familiar to many of us. The real innovation is found at the bottom of the bottle, which houses an air freshener.

This combination eliminates the need for one more item on the kitchen sink. Instead of a separate air freshener, there is one right there on the bottle. And the scents complement perfectly too!

There are two openings on the bottle. On my review sample (Water Lily & Jasmine), I opened only one since I only wanted a hint of fragrance. The freshener is touted to last for weeks, so mine still has quite a way to go. I do prefer to be able to turn a fragrance on or off as I like. Dawn Simple Pleasures doesn’t have that option. But it’s easy enough to put some tape over the opening and take it off as needed.

I’ve always used a refillable pump bottle for holding my dishwashing soap, so having to pick up the bottle to squirt out some detergent takes some getting used to. I guess that does help to release the fragrance. I didn’t find the Water Lily & Jasmine scent quite to my liking, but two other scents are available: Apple & Pear; and Lemon & Tangerine.

Overall, Dawn Simple Pleasures is a nice new addition to the choices we have for our dishwashing needs.

I don’t like Dawn or air fresheners because of the too chemical-like issues but I had to leave a comment because I adore your little houses for grading. How cute are those. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that but I so want to do something like that at all my other blogs now!
