General Mills is recalling two brands of frozen pizza for possible E. coli contamination. Various typs of Totino’s and Jeno’s pizza are included in this recall, which affects about 414,000 cases of products that are still in stores. Some of the contaminated pizza may have already been bought by consumers, so it is very important to check for these products in your freezer.

The specific products in the recall include:

Consumers with questions about the recall can contact the company at (800) 949-9055.

    HI,
I have been a Federal Meat Inspector for USDA for 26 years and I have to say it is extremely rare for E. coli to be on a pepperoni type product. Peperroni is fully cooked semi-dry sausage and is not a good environment for growth. E. coli is usually associated with comminuted beef products which have been contaminated at the slaughterhouse. It will be interesting to see the origin of the bacteria after further testing of the product.

Warren, try calling the number above to see about getting a refund.

    James, thanks for that information.

I just dont understand how there could be possible ecoli posion in Peperroni pizza, it really makes me wonder how sanitary the factory is. Also, is this just on pizza’s or also pizza bites? Please email me so I know. Thanks.

    Hi Danielle,
I don’t know of any recalls involving pizza bites. The recall is just on the pizzas listed above. Thanks for visiting my blog!
