Paige Davis Returns to ‘Trading Spaces’
She’s back! Paige Davis, who to me was the face of TLC’s ‘Trading Spaces’, is back on the show!
Paige left the hit home decorating show in 2005, seemingly without reason. (Reports say that she was fired because the management of TLC wanted a different creative direction.) Now that the powers that be at TLC have changed, they want her back!
Paige opens the new season of ‘Trading Spaces’ on Saturday, January 26 at 10 ET/PT.
She says the hour-long show is returning to its "old-school roots," in which two teams swap homes and are allotted two days and $1,000 to perform single-room makeovers. "It’s about time and budget constraints and what you can do with that."
A new twist is that the teams aren’t required to be next-door neighbors, but they must have a special connection. "One episode we filmed, the teams lived 40 miles apart, and with traffic in L.A., you can imagine the back-and-forth time," Davis says.
Also returning are some of the designers who made "Trading Spaces" a hit: Doug Wilson, Laurie Hickson-Smith, Frank Bielec and Hildi Santo-Tomas. All that I’m missing now is Ty!

Thank goodness they’re bringing Paige back! Without her the show seems to be aimless. She was the glue that kept it together and the segments rolling.

i watched the first episode b/c i was very glad she was back and hadn’t really watched trading spaces since she left…it just wasn’t as fun. :-) *elizabeth

I never realized how much Paige brought to Trading Spaces until she left! There are lots of us who missed her. :)

I think Paige got what was coming to her the first time around. I think the “new creative direction” the TLC announced was a smoke screen - the real reason she was fired is that she had gotten waaaay to big for her britches. People seem to have conveniently forgotten just how she was acting - that raucous performance dancing at a bar pulling her dress up so people could see her panties . . . She was letting it all go to her head and she was embarrassing the network. Hopefully the firing burst her ego and maybe this time around, her ego will stay in check.

I stopped watching when she left. It really sux’d without her. I will not miss an episode now. I wonder what were they thinking! Paige was/is Trading Spaces!
