Packing Up Halloween

by SP Bragg on November 1st, 2008

halloween tea lightsWell, it’s all over with. Halloween is over for another year and it’s time to start packing everything away. But it’s how you pack everything away that is going to make all the difference. It might not seem like such a big deal, but I happen to be a bit of a holiday-a-holic and I have decorations for just about every holiday going and if you aren’t organized, you can get into a lot of trouble.  Before I figured out how to actually get organized, I would buy something for the next Halloween, pack it away and then never see it again… at least for a few years. But as I got older and tired of losing things, I realized that all it took was a black marker and a few simple cardboard boxes. Now, when I pack up, I simply look for my Halloween boxes, wrap what needs to be wrapped and then carefully packed away until the next year. And oh yes, you have to have one area of your basement to store your holiday boxes.  Trust me, that is the only way that you are going to locate them, this time next year.

Yes, it’s that easy! And yes, Halloween is a whole lot more enjoyable when you don’t have to spend hours and hours looking for your decorations!

I have Rubbermaid totes (we won’t talk about how many!) for the holidays/seasons. I have one for Easter, a ton for Christmas, one for fall - which now needs to be separated into H’ween and T’giving. I need one for summer. Oh, and I have one for my seasonal flags that hang outside the house. :)

I think that I have met my match lol… I like the idea of Rubbermaid Totes. They come in different colors right?? Hmmm…
