One-Stop Drive-Through Shopping

Some days, I never get out of the car even while running errands. If I plan it right, I can do business with my bank, pay bills, return books, and get medicine in one continuous loop from the comfort of my car. Any mother of little kids can tell you how convenient this is. No getting the kids out of the car. No strollers to unfold. No worrying about crying spells in public.
I also like to do my grocery shopping in one place. Fresh veggies, diapers, hardware supplies, even photo developing, are taken care of in a one-hour stop.
If all these features are combined at a shopping center, would I go there? Absolutely!
That’s what AutoCart promises to deliver.
A planned retail chain is taking a page from the fast food industry’s book. AutoCart wants to become the world’s first drive-through supercenter chain. The company envisions opening 1,500 outlets in the United States over the next decade, offering everything from groceries to banking to dry cleaning on a drive-up basis.
The first one is scheduled to be built by the first quarter of next year, somewhere in the Midwest. Shoppers will be equipped with a wireless device that attaches to a car’s steering wheel and lets them select items on a touch screen. A lift will deliver the order to the customer’s car.
I hope that first supercenter’s going to be somewhere near me!
