Keep Holiday Preparations Simple
Ellen Sweets, of the Denver Post, has compiled a list of tips for keeping holiday preparations simple, from seven Food Network personalities. The tips include making potpourri using fruit peelings and putting together table centerpieces. Of the list, my favorites are from Rachael Ray (surprise!) and Mario Batali. Rachael says to “cook only what you know” and Mario’s advice is to prepare “food that serves well after resting”.
Holidays are not the time to experiment on a new recipe. That’s like inviting disaster to come visit. And food that doesn’t need to come straight out of the oven or pot would definitely ease the frenzy of the preparations.
