Keeping the Castle - Housekeeping & Homemaking Tips

Indoor Organic Gardening

by Maricar on December 28th, 2005

From OrganicGardening.com, here are some quick tips for taking care of houseplants the organic way.

- Know how much light your “indoor garden” gets throughout the day, and situate plants accordingly.

- Water when the top layer of soil is dry.

- Feed frequently with a weak solution of fish and seaweed fertilizer, or of balanced fertilizers (equal ratios of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K)).

There are also suggestions on how to protect your plants from aphids, mealybugs, mites, scales, whiteflies, and cats, “without resorting to toxic treatments”.
