How We Spend Our Days
“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” (Annie Dillard)
I came across this quote today. It made me reflect on how I spend my days. There’s a lot of housekeeping involved in my daily life, to be sure. But in the end, I don’t want it to be said of me that that was how I spent my life. In cooking, washing, cleaning. These are worthy activities, but they shouldn’t be my life.
Chores should be a means to an end. A clean and happy home is the goal of housekeeping. Take time today to reflect on how you want to spend your life. Stop and smell the roses. Watch a sunset. Give a hug. Smile. Nurture your creative self. Spend your day as you want to spend your life.

I really appreciate this quote as well! It is so true that the days go by too quickly and we sometimes let ourselves get caught up in things that don’t really matter much. We may feel like the days are infinite, but they are not! We may feel like the days are not individually significant, but they are. :)
