How to Use Excess Halloween Candy
Kids think getting huge amounts of candy during Halloween is a great thing. Until they find out that they can’t possibly consume that much sweetness in one day.
In order to avoid just eating them outright, here are ways you can use up that excess candy:
* Melt caramel squares to use as drizzle over apples, ice cream or cake.
* Instead of jam, put mini Reese’s cups in thumbprint cookies.
* Use candy corn as a border in iced cakes.
* Chocolate candies like Snickers, Baby Ruth, and M&Ms make great additions to cookie dough and as topping for brownies and ice cream.
* Freeze the candy for use as decorations on gingerbread houses in December.
* Tell your kids that the Sugar Fairy has made off with their candy during the night, and left them a fun new toothbrush instead.
If I could pick the treat I’d get on Halloween, I wouldn’t mind lots of these:

They’re always fun, especially for roasting on an open fire!

Or, if you just can’t abide the temptation, give it away to a children’s home or hospital, or a police or fire station.

Ha ha, funny Maricar. And good ideas. I don’t think Cedar has ever finished his candy. He likes the idea of the candy but not the actual taste so much. Each year I end up tossing a ton.

Do I do laundry on vacation? Only when I’m staying at my mom’s house! :)
Love your polls, BTW.
