How to Seed and Core Bell Peppers

Removing the core from a bell pepper can be a messy affair. But there is a way to do it neatly and quickly, without having the pesky seeds getting scattered all over your countertop.

1. Cut the pepper in half crosswise (as shown). Look at the top half, which has the seeds, and note where the divisions are located. In this case, the bell pepper has three.

2. Slice off portions of the bell pepper while avoiding both the center where the seeds are and the membranous divisions.

3. Cut up the bell pepper as desired. Discard the intact core with all the seeds in it.

Hi Vivian, That’s the first I’ve heard about that. I don’t really know the answer to that. :)
