Homemaking Quote: Housework Done Incorrectly
This week’s homemaking quote is from the FlyLady:
"Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family."
The idea that chores have to be done perfectly or not at all can be paralyzing. This is what this quote is all about. Even if there’s not enough time to do everything, just do what you can and it will benefit you family.
Practically, here’s what this means to me: Homemaking how-to books tell us to clean from the top down. To dust shelves and other horizontal surfaces before vacuuming. If I were to do this every time, I’d never get the floors clean. If my kitchen needs sweeping, I’d sweep it even if the counters are not perfectly clear of crumbs. I know I’ll get to the countertops eventually.
Don’t stress about doing chores perfectly. Just do what you can, and it will bless your home.
