Getting Rid of Clutter One Day at a Time
A few months ago, I told you about the 365 Day Clutter Challenge hosted by SAHMmy Says. I can’t find the original blog anymore, but it looks like there’s at least one other blog that’s hosting this, as well as a forum on the FlyLady network that’s dedicated to this.
Whoever it was that originated this had a very good idea that I think I will borrow. Blogs are great for accountability, so I’ll challenge myself to post my decluttering efforts here at Keeping the Castle. If you find that a week goes by without me telling you what I got out of my house, please feel free to call me on it. I really want to do this, no, I really need to do this! My ultimate goal is to simplify my home so that only the useful or beautiful things remain.
Today is Day 1: One bag of styrofoam packaging.
We’re lucky to have a place to recycle styrofoam just a short drive away. I’ve always postponed bringing the bag over there, telling myself to wait until I have more. The result was the bag would be sitting in our garage for a long time. So today, I put it in the car and got rid of it for good. It’s great to know that it’s not going into the landfill, but will see new life as something useful.
