Getting Rid of Bathroom Clutter
Scented candles on the edge of the bathtub. Fancy soap in tiny containers. Silk flowers in delicate vases. These are all the results of a previous desire to capture that spa look in our bathroom. The soap was even nestled in a bed of raffia. Well, these fancy trimmings are gone now. I realized that theyre exceptional dust collectors. Theyre purely for decorative purposes, since I prefer real bath soap over the ones shaped like shells. I seldom use candles, except in the kitchen to get rid of cooking odors. And honestly, I dont have the time, nor the inclination, to dust the raffia.
Except for the washroom in the first floor (which visitors use), I minimized the fluff on our bathroom counters, leaving only whats necessary. The more counter space I could see, the better. Its now faster to clean and much easier to maintain. A scented plug-in (with its own outlet) has replaced the candles. Gone is the spa look, but I really dont miss it anyway.
