fl*hood Extractor Hood

I found this product concept when I was researching the coo.boo digital cookbook. This is the fl*hood extractor hood. Like the coo.boo, this design by StudioHeinz garnered a 2007 Concept Award from International Forum Design (iF).

fl*hood is the extractor hood consisting of separate shades, free to position and separately controllable. The power of extraction becomes available exactly where required. Energy saving, noise reducing and an alternative to the typical “stainless-steel box” above the cooker.

In our Filipino household, the meals often include onions and garlic. Great for the taste bud, but not so much for the scent of my home. We have a range hood above the stove, but something like the fl*hood would work so much better. This is something that would add great appeal and functionality to modern kitchens. Who knows, maybe it will be available to consumers real soon.
